Students Begin Building St. Ayles Skiff

Erie students began building the first St. Ayles Skiff today. Two Skiffs will be built at BMC; they will be used in Erie’s first Community Rowing Program.

The Erie Boat Featured in Wooden Boat Magazine

The Erie Boat, built by over 1000 Erie school students at the Bayfront Maritime Center, has been added to Wooden Boat Magazines Registry of Wooden Boats—HUZZAH! It was built by over 1,000 school students, from 5th grade-12th grade, 1999-2001

Project SAIL Apprentices Tour US Coast Guard Vessel

Project SAIL (Successful Apprenticeships and Investments in Learning) is BMC’s after-school program. It offers an engaging learning experience to teens, ages 15-18, with an interest in hands-on maritime activities.

10th Season of Erie Adaptive Sailing Experience

The Erie Adaptive Sailing Experience (EASE) program helps those with physical and mental disabilities enjoy the experience of sailing and maritime activities. The EASE program is the only adaptive sailing program in Pennsylvania.

Students Operating CNC Digital Fabrication Equipment in Boatshop

Students designed a project using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) program, then created a layout for the Computer Numeric Control (CNC) digital fabrication machine to follow.
