Starboard, Cardboard!

It is time to start planning your cardboard boat! Use your imagination to construct a boat made entirely from cardboard, tape, paint and glue, and then paddle it around a 200 yard course in the East Canal Basin on Erie’s Bayfront and see if you can win a prize for Most Creative, Fastest Time, Crowd Favorite… or at least Most Dramatic Sinking! There are three age divisions:  Adult, Teen (12-18 years old) and Kid’s Crew (under 12 years old.) We have several youth groups who would like to participate but are looking for sponsors. Your donation of $50 will allow these kids to

The Erie Boat Featured in Wooden Boat Magazine

The Erie Boat, built by over 1000 Erie school students at the Bayfront Maritime Center, has been added to Wooden Boat Magazines Registry of Wooden Boats—HUZZAH! It was built by over 1,000 school students, from 5th grade-12th grade, 1999-2001

BMC Youth Working on San Francisco Pelican
