Thank you to everyone who attended our 6th Annual Ales for Sails!
It was another sell out crowd, 600 attendees, last Friday night. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of community support. Thank you to all the local brewers, Cali’s West, Millennium Sound, Video Veritas, who made the evening very special. We are grateful for our amazing team of volunteers including planning committee members, Bren and Kathy Lindell, Carol and Mike Hirsch, Kathy, Lew, and Andy Boucher, Emily Perrotta, Doug and Cindy Boucher, Mike and Meg Eisert, Scott Hitz, Travis Burch, Debbie Heitzenrater, and Rich and Amy Eisenberg. Friday, February 9, 2018, 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm is the date for our 6th annual fundraiser, Ales for Sails. Enjoy local craft brew from 10 breweries, sample delicious appetizers, enter to win a gift basket, dance to the live DJ music, play in the photo booth, check out the unique bayfront boatshop venue and more – all while supporting a great cause!
As always, tickets will be $40 each and available pre-sale only. Tickets can be purchased on-line during the first week in December 2017 – and they always sell out. . . Each ticket comes with one vote to select your favorite brewery for the coveted People’s Choice Award.
Who will receive the Ales for Sails People’s Choice Award for 2018? Choose one of ten entries including: Erie Ale Works, Erie Brewing, Lavery Brewing, Blue Canoe, Timber Creek, 5 & 20 Spirits and Brewing, The Brewerie, Millcreek Brewing Company, Voodoo, and Arundel Cellars & Brewing Company.
Must be 21 to attend.

Thank you to EVERYONE who made BMC’s 2017 winter fundraiser a huge success! The event SOLD OUT for the fifth year in a row. We raised $20,000 to help support hands-on maritime programs at BMC. A special thank you goes out to our Ales for Sails committee: Kathy and Bren Lindell, Doug Boucher, Kathy and Lew Boucher, Carol Hirsch, Mike Eisert, Debbie Heitzenrater, Dennis Williams, Rich and Amy Eisenberg, Amanda Loose Nagle and Emily Perrotta. Cheers to Five Years!!! Our Ales for Sails event featured the 1812 Gunboat Schooner Porcupine on display center stage in the BMC boatshop, local craft brews, delicious food provided by Stephany’s Catering, a live DJ by Millennium Sound, Photo Booth by Video Veritas, Maritime Training Simulator Demonstrations by Gene Polaski and more! We were excited to welcome local breweries Voodoo, Lavery Brewing, Blue Canoe, Erie Brewing, Erie Ale Works, Timber Creek, Five &20 Spirits and Brewing, The BrewErie and Millcreek Brewing.
Winner of the People’s Choice Award for 2017 – Erie Ale Works! Congratulations!!
